On June 4, 2013 the next Foresight Lecture will take place in Berlin. Dr. Leslie Vinjamuri (SOAS, University of London) will discuss the question: “Are Universal Norms Universal?”

On the occassion of the book presentation "Angela Merkel: Die Kanzlerin und ihre Welt" (Angela Merkel: The Chancellor and her world) by the senior foreign-policy editor at the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, Stefan Kornelius, on April 22, 2013, in Berlin, Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk had a discussion about Europe's future. On April 20 and 21, 2013, the Foresight Symposium "China in a multi-polar world" took place in Beijing. It focused on issues related to China's economic development, domestic and international resource security, and the country's interaction with the regional order. [more]

The new book "Handmade Urbanism, From Community Initiatives to Participatory Models" by Marcos L. Rosa and Ute E. Weiland, published by Jovis, is released. It showcases 15 projects realized mostly in less favored areas of five major cities in emerging countries, examining the potential of urban transformation embedded in community initiatives. [more]
