Community organisation with a comprehensive offer of cultural, health, environmental, education and employment projects.
Founded in the borough of Iztapalapa by indigenous people from different ethnic backgrounds who recently migrated into the city, Miravalle is a community based project that brings together many different individuals and local and metropolitan organisations.They run a comprehensive project that includes collection and recycling of two tonns of PET plastic per week (generating employment for young 30 people), a farm/vegetable garden where they produce part of the food they offer at a low-budget lunchroom that secures a balanced nutrition for the people. They also offer a wide variety of sport and cultural services such as art workshops, dance classes, a skateboarding court, as well as an education program to overcome the technological gap. They have also turned a former garbage dump into a public space for social interaction.
