Wings to Fly
Education community project that promotes the appropiation of public space, human rights and citizenship, specially among children.
This project takes place in a highly marginalized neighbourhood with a serious lack of urban infrastructure and severe problems of violence and drug addiction.
The project consists of different programs: appropriation and preservation of public space by all the members of the community; short documentaries made by children about Human Rights and Ecology; training community workers; foreseeing the community's future and the education they need; and the use of art (specially cinema) as a trigger for citizenship. They have worked with 800 children from the local schools, and have built a small cultural centre ran by the community.
