The project began in 2002 as a year of research and extension with 20 students in FAU USP. Objective was to sensibilize students for the precarious situation of housing and investigate innovative alternatives. Object of contact was the unfinished building to the street Solon, 934, housing 73 families, which praticaly camped in the building. The precariousness of the facilities offered risks to residents
Through various partnerships the project was possible. At the end of this semester, students and community organized a workshop "the slum living", a week of immersion in work, resulting in the preliminary design for reform in direct contact with the residents.
Once the reforms of the building were finished, the reforms of the units began, done by their own owners.
